Headsprout Early Reading episodes are exercises designed to teach particular skills. Therefore, there is no correlation of them to a specific reading level. Our Episode Guide covers what skills are taught in each episode range.

Our correlation chart provides the grade level, Learning A-Z level, and Fountas & Pinnell level for each Early Reading Sprout Story and the grade level for the Reading Comprehension episodes. The total number of words is also available for both the Early Reading stories and the Reading Comprehension episodes, as well as the genre of text for the Reading Comprehension episodes.

Use our Placement Assessment to determine the optimal entry point for each student into the Headsprout program. Throughout the program, use our Benchmark Assessments to measure student progress and identify struggling students who may need more practice and/or individualized instruction.
