Running a Traceroute and Ping

If you are experiencing slowness accessing Learning A-Z sites or the Kids A-Z app, these troubleshooting steps will usually resolve the issue.

However, it is occasionally necessary to do more advanced troubleshooting. If the above steps do not resolve your issue, please run a traceroute and ping report on your device.

Windows Traceroute
Windows Ping Report

Mac Traceroute:

  1. Open the Applications folder.

  2. Go to the Utilities folder.

  3. Open the Terminal app.

  4. Type traceroute followed by a space and then the website or IP address.

  5. Hit Enter on your keyboard and wait for the results.

Mac Ping Report:

  1. Open the Terminal app.

  2. Type ping <server>, where <server> is the hostname or IP address of the server that you want to ping.

  3. Press Enter.

  4. To stop the ping, after seeing enough results, press ctrl + c.

Once you have run the report, contact us with the results and the tech specs for your device.
