Finding a Student's Level on Reading A-Z
Updated over a week ago

Reading A-Z provides several resources to assist with placing a student at the appropriate level. The most popular resources are Benchmark Books or Benchmark Passages.

When using the program for the first time, we recommend starting with a benchmark at the student's age or grade level. Or, use our Level Correlation Chart if you know the student's level in a different leveling system. Benchmark Books or Benchmark Passages can also be used to determine if a student has mastered a level and is ready to progress to the next.

Use a retelling rubric after reading a book or passage to assess a student's comprehension of the context.
