The Reading Growth Report gives teachers a student-by-student view of reading performance and growth throughout the school year.
The report uses Lexile® results from three assessment windows:
BOY (Beginning of Year)
MOY (Middle of Year)
EOY (End of Year)
Teachers can use the report to monitor reading achievement, identify growth trends, and provide targeted instructional support.
What information is included?
For each student, the report includes:
Grade level
Current Lexile® measure
BOY, MOY, and EOY Lexile results
Reading proficiency status
Overall Lexile growth
Use this information to identify students who are meeting grade-level expectations, monitor progress, and determine where additional support may be needed.
Reading Proficiency Levels
Each assessment result includes a proficiency indicator based on the student's Lexile measure compared with the expected Lexile range for their grade level.
Below Grade
The student's Lexile measure is below the expected grade-level range. The student may need additional support to reach grade-level reading expectations.
At Grade
The student's Lexile measure is within the expected grade-level range. The student is meeting grade-level reading expectations.
Above Grade
The student's Lexile measure is above the expected grade-level range. The student is reading above grade-level expectations and may be ready for more advanced text.
These indicators provide a quick view of current reading performance. Use them with the Growth column to understand both current achievement and progress over time.
Lexile Growth Planner®
The Lexile Growth Planner® provides a visual view of a student's reading growth over time using Lexile measures from the Reading Growth Assessment.
It helps teachers understand a student's:
Current reading ability
Estimated growth
Recommended growth
Progress toward future academic, college, and career reading demands
How to access the Growth Planner
From the Reading Growth Report, select a student's name or select View Growth Planner from the student's three-dot menu (⋯).
The Growth Planner updates as new Reading Growth Assessment results become available and displays the student's most current assessment information.
