Foundations A-Z, developed by Learning A-Z, is a comprehensive literacy solution built on the Science of Reading. It offers explicit, systematic instruction through digital lessons, printable resources, and engaging student activities. Assigning lessons is a key feature that allows educators to tailor instruction to meet individual or group needs.

πŸ” Step 1: Log In to Foundations A-Z

  1. Click Member Login.

  2. Enter your credentials to access your teacher dashboard.

πŸ“‚ Step 2: Navigate to Lesson Plans

  1. Click the Menu icon in the top-left corner under the Foundations A-Z logo.

  2. Select Lesson Plans.

  3. Use the Grade dropdown to choose the appropriate grade level.

  4. Select the Unit, then the Module, and finally the Lesson you want to assign.

Each grade level includes:

  • 8 Units

  • 4 Modules per Unit

  • 5 Daily Lessons per Module
    This totals 160 structured lesson plans per grade.

🧭 Step 3: Explore Lesson Content

Inside each lesson, you’ll find:

  • Explicit instruction steps

  • Digital books, videos, and games

  • Printable practice materials

  • Professional development resources for educators

You can preview the lesson to ensure it aligns with your instructional goals.

  1. Once inside the lesson, look for the Assign button.

  2. Choose the student(s) or group(s) you want to assign the lesson to.

  3. Optionally, set a due date or add notes.

  4. Click Confirm to finalize the assignment.

After assigning, you can:

  • Track student engagement and completion

  • View performance reports

  • Adjust or reassign lessons as needed
