Writing A-Z offers an engaging online writing environment where students log in to practice and refine their writing skills.
Build-A-Book resources on Writing A-Z offer students an online tool to write and illustrate their own story using the steps of the writing process: prewriting, drafting, and revision. Teachers can even publish student books in the Kids Writing Library!
Process Writing Workshop on Writing A-Z makes online practice of the writing process easy for students with step-by-step instructions to create compositions for different text types. Each step guides writers at the four developmental writing levels with resources such as level-appropriate graphic organizers, revision checklists, editing guides, and writing tips. Helpful, engaging characters review each step in detailed videos if students need additional support.
Write Your Way tool on Writing A-Z encourages students to write every day. Students write, draw, or even upload images to author short writing compositions. Use the tool for journaling, free writing, quick essays, responses to reading, or other daily writing activities.
In the Kids Writing Library, students can view the works of their classmates, as chosen by the teacher, either on the Class Writers’ Bookshelf (Build-A-Book) or Class Writers’ Wall. Every time a teacher posts to the Kids Writing Library students become published authors within their online classroom.
