When a teacher has assigned a Running Record to assess a student’s reading level progress and comprehension, the student will automatically be directed to complete it first when logging in. If it was bypassed initially, return to it by clicking the Flight Check icon from the Raz-Kids student homepage.
To complete the Running Record, simply record a reading of it and send it to the Teacher, record a retelling of it and send it to the Teacher, and pass a short comprehension quiz.
Students will have access to the assignments the teacher has made for them from the Raz-Kids world on the Raz-Kids student homepage.
Oral reading practice helps improve pronunciation and increase reading rate, resulting in improved focus on comprehension. While reading a Raz-Kids Leveled Book, students can choose to record themselves either for fun or to send to their teacher for grading.
Simply select the Record button from the Read page and begin.
The On Your Own Book Room is a free reading library separate from an assignment. A teacher can individualize the Book Room by adjusting the Raz-Kids level each student will have access to, as well as other books such as Poetry or Nursery Rhymes. If the teacher also has a license to Reading A-Z, an additional library of resources are available in the Book Room, such as: Additional Leveled Books, Alphabet Books, Decodable Books, High-Frequency Word Books, and Spanish Leveled Books.
