Grouping Students

Grouping students allows you to reflect the structure of your classroom, making assigning resources and reviewing reports a seamless process for you.

To create a group:
 
  1. Log in with the teacher username and password
  2. Select the Roster link from the My Classroom or Manage Students menu
  3. Check the box to the left of each appropriate student, or the box in the header row to select all students being viewed
  4. Click Group
  5. Enter the Group name
  6. Click Add

To edit the students in an existing group:
  1. Log in with the teacher username and password
  2. Select the Roster link from the My Classroom or Manage Students menu
  3. Check the box to the left of each appropriate student, or the box in the header row to select all students being viewed
  4. Click Group
  5. Check or uncheck each group name as appropriate
  6. Changes are saved automatically

To rename or delete a group:
 
  1. Log in with the teacher username and password
  2. Select the Roster link from the My Classroom or Manage Students menu
  3. Click the Viewing menu
  4. Select either the pencil icon to edit or the trash can icon to delete each appropriate group
    • When editing, change the name and select Save
  5. Changes are saved automatically

Resources can be assigned to groups of students a couple of different ways:

Level Up Assignments:
  1. Log in with the teacher username and password
  2. Select the Roster link from the My Classroom or Manage Students menu
  3. Click the Viewing menu
  4. Select the appropriate group of students to view
  5. Chose the desired product tab and adjust the settings as needed

Assessment Assignments:
  1. Log in with the teacher username and password
  2. Select the Assignment link from the Manage Students menu or Assignment from the header row
  3. Choose the appropriate product tab
  4. Click to assign the assessment or edit an existing assignment
  5. Choose the appropriate group of students 
  6. Follow the remaining prompts
  7. Click Assign

Also, watch for the orange assign button throughout the products to assign specific resources to a group of students. To assign a resources to more than one group of students, select one group and then check the box for each of the other students.

To review reports by groups:
 
  1. Login with the teacher username and password
  2. Select the Reports link from the Manage Students menu or Reports from the header row
  3. Choose the appropriate product tab
  4. Click Activity
  5. Choose the appropriate group from the Viewing menu
